The VETS - Beyond the Uniform program has been developed by military veterans with the specific goals of helping veterans make a successful journey from the military into the civilian workforce, and to also help employers that hire veterans become "veteran ready".
We provide FREE mentoring & training services to veterans to help enhance their core military skills into the skills needed for success in the civilian workforce!
Not Your Standard Transition Program!
There are 100's of transition programs available to transitioning military veterans. There are so many, that it sometimes gets confusing trying to identify the differences and benefits of each one.
So we made a strategic decision to NOT offer the same "cookie cutter" services as the other transition programs offer.
VETS - Beyond the Uniform's mission is to build upon the veteran's military skills and the skills taught by military transition programs. Our goal is to improve the veteran's chances for successful long term careers by providing veterans with one-on-one coaching & mentoring, and access to workshops & online training that cover over 200 skills-sets used in the civilian workforce.
Our program is designed to work as a stand-alone veteran's mentoring program, or as a support program for existing military transition programs.
Our veterans have made great sacrifices in the service of their country and most veterans leave the military with a strong set of acquired leadership, management, and occupational skills. These skills that supported veterans during their military careers are top notch and employers want this talent in their workforce.
However, the rate of first year turnover among American veterans entering the civilian workforce is alarming at over 45%.
Hiring veterans has become easy, but getting them to remain beyond the first year of employment has been quite a challenge for a number of reasons; including the failure to successfully integrate into the civilian organization.
Veterans have received basic military training and have been provided the additional occupational training required to perform in their military roles. However, even the best trained veterans may be missing the key skills needed in order to successfully integrate into today’s corporate workforce.
This was the reason for the creation of the VETS - Beyond the Uniform.
Our mission is to enhance the core skills learned during the military service and improve the veterans chances for successful long term careers by providing veterans with the additional skills-sets used in the civilian workforce.
Unlike a lot of the other programs, the VETS - Beyond the Uniform provides veterans transitioning from the military service over 200 free soft-skills training workshops, webinars, and self-paced online training to help them successfully integrate and to be effective in the business world and civilian workforce.
We fill in the gaps and build on the connections between military & civilian skills, and support each veteran's transformation by eliminating the culture shock between military & corporate cultures
We deliver solutions that work!
Our mission to support our veterans doesn't simply end with the veteran. We work to support the long term success for employers that hire veterans as well.
There are several benefits to hire veterans, and the hiring organization may want to ensure that it has performed the necessary steps to become "veteran ready".
The VETS - Beyond the Uniform coaches will meet with you to evaluate your current recruiting, integration, mentoring, and retention programs.
Working hand-in-hand with your team members, we will help to design & build a successful long term "veteran focused" hiring & retention program specifically tailored for you.
We help organizations utilize a 6 component success plan to ensure each organization has a plan in place for long term success.
VETS - Beyond The Uniform has developed a designation program for employers that want to be recognized as meeting the standards to be recognized as a “Veteran Friendly”, “Veteran Ready”, or “Veteran Focused” organization.
Working with the Veterans Chamber of Commerce (VCC) as the designating agency, the VCC has created "The National Network of Veteran Friendly Employers Program" to recognize employers that have implemented Veteran Friendly Hiring & Retention Programs.
